Initiative 1- Digital Literacy Drive (for elderly)

Activity: Teaching the use of basic mobile Apps to Elderly:

In this Digital world, survival of the fittest is evident. Boscons took the initiative of spreading awareness and giving parents and grandparents insight into the ins and outs of the Digital world, aligned with SDG Goal No 4 ( Quality Education). The Parents and Grandparents were jubilant to learn from the students. The students focused on WhatsApp Video Calling, Ola/Uber, Campus Care, Voice Message, Voice Recording Message. The takeaway for the students was their confidence level was boosted and they imbibed the traits of a mentor/ guide. They upgraded their own digital skills as well.

Initiative 2- Book Donation Drive (for underprivileged)

Activity: Treasure the treasure of Education by donating books - Boscons were sensitised on the accessibility of books in acquiring education and the difference they make in the lives of underprivileged children. The young students of Grade 3 participated with zest in the Book Donaton Drive at the Sahyog Care NGO.

Initiative 3- Youth Conference (Interschool)

Activity: Conference on vision of Quality education : In order to empower the learners and to foster youth capable of critical thinking and problem-solving, a Youth Conference was held at School on November 26, 2022 actualizing SDG 4 in the school campus. Many schools from the West Delhi participated in the event. Conference aimed at nurturing global citizens in an ever-changing world. Participants discussed that achieving inclusive and quality education for all reaffirms the belief that education is one of the most powerful and proven vehicles for sustainable development and gave their profound insights on ‘Our Vision of Quality Education.’

Initiative 4- Light up a Life Activity (for illiterate)

Activity: Students of Grade V took up an initiative towards 'Light Up A Life' by teaching underprivileged persons to sign or write their names. It was a small step to set up a bridge that leads toward hope and human progress. It was a great way of spreading awareness about the significance of basic education in one's life.

Initiative 5- Interhouse Competition

Activity: A. Poster making - SDG 4 (Quality Education) aims to provide children and young people with quality and easy access to education plus other learning opportunities. The theme of the competition was related to the SDG – 4 that aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The activity was planned with the objective to provide knowledge to the students about quality education and to ignite the fire of imagination and creativity amongst them. The students expressed their ideas through paintings, sketches and they also used their innovative digital skills. The young learners displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters. Students of all the four houses participated in the competition with immense zeal and enthusiasm. It was a great opportunity to watch these young minds creating and displaying their ideas on paper and showcasing their digital skills. They wrote stimulating and thought-provoking slogans to highlight the importance of quality education in an individual’s life.

B. Activity: Comic Strip- The other activity was planned with the objective to provide knowledge to the students about quality education by using their imagination, artistic skills and creativity. The Comic Strip Designing was a fun-filled activity. Students of all the four houses participated in the competition with immense zeal and enthusiasm. The activity engaged the students in meaningful learning experiences where they get to practice key skills such as writing, reading, speaking, communicating and in developing digital skills. It was a great opportunity to watch these young minds creating and displaying their ideas on paper and showcasing their digital skills.

Initiative 6- Promotion of Trash to Cash (under SEC)

Activity: Experience Practically, the Classroom Learning - ‘If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.’As a part of School Enterprise Challenge - Students of Team Swastik geared up to participate in Trash to Cash Challenge and they already set up a vending stall for in the school campus on November 5, 2022. Herbal Handmade Soaps of different varieties viz. rose, goat milk, aloe-vera, neem and Organic Incense Cups were put up for sale on the day of School Parent Teachers Meeting. These all are made of primarily using wate flowers petals collected from temple/ gurudwara.The event saw a colossal footfall of the parents who bought the products. The venture helped the students learn a vocational skill and entrepreneurship nuances by working independently on the project. It spirited up the morale of the students and realized the true essence of Quality education.

Initiative 7- Preparation of Zero Hour (themed on SDGs)

Activity: Jagriti – An awakening: The main themed play on the occasion of school’s Annual day, Zero Hour 2022-23 has been prepared on the theme of SDGs whose implementation is impossible without ‘Quality Education’. Not to reveal much, join us on 17th December to see it yourself.
